Spindler, his mother received two “form cards” last August and September which informed his mother’ that he was a prisoner. His signature was recognized as genuine. No additional information has been, received from him.In, early correspondence from the soldier It was revealed that Sgt. Spindler was stationed at Nichols Field and Clcrke's Field. As the war advanced he was unable * to reveal his whereabouts. In some letters he wrote about friends providing only given names, and' there is no way to correspond with their relatives. So far as is known, Sgt. Spindler is the only one from this city held by the Japs in thePhilippines.
