Hartle commanding the United States forces that landed in northern Ireland graduated from St. John’s in 1910. lie was a classmate of George E. Rullman. local attorney.Another St. John's graduate, Allan MjcBride, is a high ranking officer, chief of staff to Gen. Douglas MacArtlnir fighting in the Philippines.
