Lewis was completely successful in the attack upon! the post of the enemy at the river Raisin ; their force there, consisting of some hundred Indians, and a company ot militia, which were placed behind pickets, were attacked by our troops about 3 . o clock, on the 18th instant.The action continued until night. The Indians suffered considerably—their allies ran off with a piece ol artillery, in the commencement ol the action Our loss is about iO killed, and 2 captains and twenty privates wounded.—General Winchester, marched yesterday with 250 men, to take the command at the river Raisin.
