Of the 3S0 passengers and 110 officers and crew, ouly 67 are so far accounted for. As there were a number of vessels in the icinity, it is probable, however, that others have been picked up and nqt yet reporLed. The terrible calamity haps pened at 2 o’clock Friday-morning, during a dense fog. The Cambria had left here the day before, b mud for New York. Her passenger list was mainly made up of emigrants from Prussia, with a few cabin pt «ngers. Sue was struck opposite her boiler with great force, and immediately careened so that the boats of only one side were available, and it was almost impossible to launch those. Both vessels were heavy iron steamers. When the collision occurred the Cambria was not under headway, bat from the great force with which she struck, the Sultan must have been at full speed, as she cut hall way through the doomed steamer and sent her cargo of human beings to a watery grave in less than twenty minutes after the blow. There are mauy anxious inquiries at the office hero for missing relatives and friends and a number of dispatches have been received from New York to the same effect. The matter will be fully investigated by the authorities, as the officers of the Sultan are loudly blamed for running at such speed when they could not see the length of their vessel for the fog.INDIANA ITEMS.The Petersburg Press claims that one of the coal mines in that vieinity show s a vein of genuine peacock coal. The ex Union soldiers at Shelbyville, attended in a body the funeral of James Hornbeek, an ex Confederate soldier, on Sunday.William and Mary Haskins, of Dubois county, after living together over forty years and raising eight children, have been divorced. D.,” says: “Having perfect knowledge of the science and strength of Mr. Spragg, I am confident lie can whip any man in the State.”The Shelby City Council has passed an ordinance making it unlawful for persons to loaf around the depot, to congregate at the church doors, the entrauce to the opera house, to loaf in or about a livery stable or to obstruct the entrance or to stand on the steps to private offices.
