The quilt is in remarkably good condition for one of such age. It has to be at least 110 years old. There is only one visible frayed corner. Interestingly enough, this corner is quilted differently from the other squares. While the other squares are quilted with a double row of stitches, parallel to each side of the small squares, this corner is stitched in the design of a wheel. The significance of this was not passed on with the quilt, but among hobbiests who know, it is the general view that is is a symbol either of the family occupation or name.
