SHERMAN'S ARMT.ft• 1 ' ? * • - . *.*■ * W 9 r . «r* •Reviews iu Savannah.(From the Savannah Republican, December 30.1REVIEW OF THE 17th CORPS.,The 17th Army Corps, Major General FrankP. Blair commanding, whose review bj Major GemralS e man,was postponed from the 27 th on account of the inclemency of the weather, was reviewed yesterday forenoon by General Sherman, on Bay street. The. corps presented a very brilliant appearance, as’their solid phalanxes of veterans marched rty our office, and although we were unable to witness the whole of the review, yet If the entire corps marched as well, and preserved as true soldierly bearing as the division in the advance, both General Sherman and General Blair may vrell feel proud of such a stalwart military organization. Two things were noticeable, tidiness and military precision, and as we fondly lingered at the window, to witness the end of the long, imposing line, moving on steadily up Bay street, the bayonets glistening in the sun, we recalled the image of the lamented, the illustrious, the brave and noble-hearted McPherson, who, prior to assuming command of the Army of the Tennessee. had commanded the glorious 17th Corps. The locality selected by the 14th and 17th Corps, was better adapted than Gaston street, with its deep, sandy soil for military movements, on which street the 15th Corps, Major General Usterhaus, was reviewed by General Sherman.
