CERES WITH THE U. S. MARINES IN VIETNAM—PFC Ronald Ceres, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Ceres, 2001 Palm, is shown receiving the Purple Heart during ceremonies held at the station hospital in Dan-ang.The young Marine suffered gunshot wound to the right arm and face while on an operation in Quang Nam Province.Leonard F. Champman Jr., Gen. USMC Commandant of theMarine Corps advises the parents that the condition and prognosis of their son is good.The ceremonies were conducted while Bob Hope and his troupe were at the hospital andthe above photo is signed by Hope and^ a member of thetroupe.PFC Ceres, a machine-gunner, entered the service January 4. 1968.
