VETERANS*LINED LAST NIGHT.April.The largest number of veterans yet assembled met in the rooms of the Alamo City Business College last nightto witness the first regular installation ceremonies of Luther R. Hare Command No. 57, Spanish War Veterans.corpsthe State, conducted the ceremonies,assisted by Comrade L. Hansen as »ffleer of the day, and Capt. W. F„ Barnes, corps chaplain, who acted as inside guard All officers, from thecaptain down, including the appointive officers, were escorted to the altar,%where Captain Hillan administeredthe oath of office and instructed themas to their duties thereto. At theconclusion of the mustering, those present took a recess of fifteen minutes while retresnments were served, after which the new captain, Clive H. Shook, called the meeting to order and transacted business left over from the last meeting.The reunion of all Spanish war veterans of Texas, which is to take place in San Antonio in April, came up for discussion and the executive committee reported. Captain Hillan, secretary of the committee, stated that he was in communication with Washington and Austin, and all replies so far received were very favorable to the reunion and would result in a big attendance. The following outline of aprogram for the three days’ entertainment during the reunion, subject to change, was then read and adopted: April 21—Morning—Opera house.Address of welcome by Hon. Jos, I, Sayers in behalf of trie State of Texas;Marshall Hicks, mayor, in behalf of the city of San Antonio. and other prominent speakers, both National and State.Noon—Big barbecue at San PedroSprings.Afternoon—All veterans, both visiting and local, will turn out in flower parade and Battle of Flowers on Alamo Plaza. ‘ ;V 1. '0April 22—Morning -Band concert. Noon—Barbecue.Afternoon—Addresses by speakers of National and State reputation.April 22—Morning—A visit, to Government Hill, where a hand concert and dress parade of government troops will be had.Noon—BarbecueAfternoon—Trolley ride to differentparts of the city.Night—A grand farewell smoker.The new officers installed last night were as follows; Captain, CliveII, Shook; first lieutenant, V.
