Pearl , Harbor Week/’ .Originally suggested by the New York Journal-American, The'San Antonio Light and . othei* Hearst newspapers, the idea has been widely and enthusiastically adopted throughout the United States, '•This is the natural response of a people who , not. only are willing to LOAN their, money to the government through purchase of war savings stamps and bonds, but also want to GIVE what they can to the overthrow of the aggressor nations,Early contributors to the Fighter Plane Fund plan for which The San!Antonio Light is acting as trustee, have suggested that a fighting plane is not a. sufficiently large contribution from San Antonio and Southwest Texas, They have suggested that a bombing plane fund, such as the one that has been established in New York, ought to be the goal.However that may be, thus is indicated the response of the citizens of this section. They Want in the Pacific air force of the United States,’a symbol of their participation in the avenging of the treacherous blow that was dealt this country.
