Quite » MDsation bat been created in this city by the “revelations” of an individual named Houston King, who claims that he was daring the war a full-blown colonel in the Rebel army. King, six months ago, called upon United States District Attorney Bristow, In Kentucky, and submitted for hie consideration voluminous documents and oral narratives concerning a great plot to flood tbe country with counterfeit money, and among others he mentioned aa criminals in the villainy Governor Hoffman, ex-GovernorMorgan and Geueial Frank Rtai. King appeared before United States Commissioner Shields, in this city, in charge of United Stalesofficers and reiterated his charges.He said that he had beard of the conspiracy in 1866, on his way to New Orleans, and that the flrat meeting of the conspirators was held at Tammany Hall, General Frank Blair presiding. This meeting, he says, decided to hood the country with counterfeit xrecnbacka, bny up all ths gold with them, and so paralyse all monetary transactions, and finally to compel tbe Government to advocate a repudiation of the publiedebt. After making his statement King made an affidavit against himself, so aa to get seat to Ludlow street jail to await tbe investigation Into tbe charges against the conspirator*. He is supposed to be iussne.
