Warren Wheeler -■ Whelchel is a prisoner of the Japanese in the Philippines, according to a wire received by his mother. v Mrs. Ona Veima Whelchel, 80o kNorth Tyler Street.Sergeant Whelchel was with the coast artillery and ranked as staff sergeant when his mother received the last letter from him in OctoberHe has been in the service two years and left for foreign service Aug. 27, 1941. He was working in Albuquerque and entered the service with the New Mexico National Guard.Two other brothers are in the service. Russell Wheichel is with the infantry in Massachusetts and Thomas William Whelchel is in the naval reserve at the University of New Mexico.
