Miles—The Indians threaten an immediate attack. They have, in fact, taken possession of all ranches about here, our mail station included. Please givens aid as soon as possible.C. A. White, Ag t C. O. C. A P. P. Ex.Immediately on receipt of this dispatch, Col. Miles ordered Company F. 2d Infantry, commanded by Lieut. Bond, and 18 Dragoons under Lieut. T) ler, to march at daylight tomorrow morning with 1-5 days rations. He would have started them immediately but the wagons were all gone for wood. !The whole couutry is said to be alarmed and j without means of defense.
