FOREWARNED, IF NOT FOREARMED.The special correspondent of the Financial News, writing Graskop Farm, Graskop, S A. ( 7172 ft. above the level of the sea, ) Jan. 10, says : —Every Boer in the Transvaal is laughing in his sleeve over the way they have misled and jooled Mr. Gladstone's government through the Bechuana question. The Boers do not care for this section which iies in the middle of Africa ; what they do care for is the Amatonga and Zulu country, giving them a sea frontage of several huudred miles. While the Eaglish troops are guarding Bechuaualand all the energies of the Boers are engaged in seizing and measuring farms on the Indian Ocean, recovering St. Lucia Bay, and as soon as enough farms are seized and occupied by them the whole of the Boer seaboard, which will then include. everything from Natal to the Portuguese line,south of Loreuzo-Marques (Delagoa Bay,) will be- jcome a dependency of the South African Republic uuder the protection of Germany. This will effectually drive out of this portion of Africa ail English manufactured goods, and gives to the German manufacturers a monopoly—provided they control the Loretzo-Marques Railway. The Boers expept as soon j as this is accomplished to absorb or conquer Natal, in ! Jact they claim that this was agreed to on the part ofLord Derby when the Boer deputation was in England.
