SIX FORMER JOPLIN IT ES ARE ON DUTCH ISLAND SHELLED BY SUBMARINESix former Joplin people are among the American citizens living on the Dutch West Indies island of Aruba, which was shelled yesterday by an enemy submarine, but with only minor damage reported. The stx are John Schnur and his san, Jack Schnur, oil re-^ finery workmen on the island; Mr. and Mrs. Allsn Dew and their small son, Lee Allen Dew, and Cleo Stave.The Schnurs resided here many years ago, but went to Aruba island about nine years ago from Casper, Wyo., to work for the Standard Oil Company. The younger Schnur is a grandson of John Stehm and a nephew of Bill McCulley, both residing at 506 North Galena avenue.Mrs. Alton Dew and Cleo Stave are a sister and cousin respectively of Mrs. E. E. Bland, 1702 AnnieBaxter avenue.. 1-
