ROLAND BLACKBURNKILLED IN BELGIUMPfc. Roland Blackburn, 27, son ; of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Blackburn, was killed in action in Belgium, his parents have been noViHed. Word came to them in a letter which they received Friday from Private Blackburn's wife, who is living in Spokane, Wash.Private Blackburn had been reported missing in action Dec. 31, but the later report was that he had been killed in Belgium and burial was in France. He was a sniper in the infantry. His last letter to his mother was written Christmas eve.Going to the service about 26 months ago, he had been overseas about two and one-half months. He had been an employee for several years of the Golden Krust bakery in Jefferson, and later was employed in a bakery in Spokane. He entered the service from Spokane.Surviving besides his wife are the three sons in the family; his parents, and nine brothers and sisters: Mrs. Philip Lawton Jr., Sam, Roger, Darrell, Richard, Robert, all of Jefferson, Mrs. Katherine Schultz of Ames, Mrs, Maran Pill of Arcadia, and Marjorie at home. Mrs. M. L. Blackburn and Mrs. Fannie Davis of Grand Junction are grandmothers.
