WHITEStaff CorrespondentPARIS, Feb. 12—Establishment of a rest-recreation area for Western Front troops on the French RViera has been announced by £TO Headquarters.Soldiers will get a week’s furlough at the former playground of the rich, exclusive of trdvel time. Twelfth Army Group has been allotted a quota of 1.250 men to be rested at one time under the plan and the Air Forces may send 800. The quota for 6th Army Group has not been announced.Quotas will soon be arriving regularly, offic a Is sad. and it is planned to accommodate 18,000 men at a time later. About 500 convalescents and special rest cases have already arrived at the resort area.Stretching from Cannes to Nice and inland about 20 miles, the territory will be known as the U. S. Riviera Recreational Area. In general, Nice will accommodate EM and Cannes officers. Soldiers w 11 be selected for furloughs by their local commanders.
