War Prisoners Aid Now Reaching the Philippines, Swedish Delegates of YMCA Find Conditions GoodTHE War Prisoners Aid of the Y.M.C.A. now has access to the Philippines, it was announcedthis week by M. H. T;.fsted, general secretary of the local Y.M.C.A. The assurance has come through neutral Sweden, whose representatives are rushing aid and supplies to help meet the recreational, educational, and religious needs of the prisoners of war held in the Islands. Additional Swedish delegates of the War Prisoners Aid ax*e being sentat once to carry on the work.Assurance that prisoners in Germany are being treated correctly has also come to the local Y.M.C.A. office. A Swedish delegate visited Stalag Luft III and Stalag III-B in November, just prior to visiting this country, and talked with prisoners in both camps. He found the spirit of the American prisoners to be excellent and morale high. Camp fare is supplemented with supplies from the International Red Cross so food is adequate and of the right kind. Any shortcoming in other supplies are due to the scarcity of certain items in Germany and not to lack of desire of the military authorities to live up to the terms of the Geneva Convention.
