ANOTHER GEORGIA IIERO.While the praise of the young Brigadier (20 years of age,) is sounding from all lip* in the Southern Confederacy, for his daring and successful exploits on the Cumberland, we take pleasure in associating withthe name of Wheeler another gallant young Georgian whose teats of chivalry at the battle of Cedar Run are handsomely noticed by a correspondent ot the Richmond Whig.' It appears that the 14th Regiment was on the extreme left of Thomas' Georgia Brigade, and which advancing in double quick, this Regiment was severed from the Brigade by the disorderly retreat of another Brigade which was hotly pursued by the enemy in superior force. At this critical juncture, a voice was heard, “Dont give way, 14th, for the honor of old Georgia, stand. All eyes looked in the direction of the voice. Ou a little hillock some sixty yards off, there stood the Licutenant-Colonel, the youthful Commander of the Regiment, with the battle flag waving in one band and pistol in the other, his face beaming for the conflict in the face of the advancing foe. “Follow me, my Georgia boys, don't desert your Colonel.” With a wild shout on they rushed, heedless of the leaden rain open them. Their fire began to tell on the enemy, who commenced yielding, and Anally retired, as other Regiments came to the support of the lltli Georgia. The day was carried, and the youthful leaderwas Col. Folsom, late a stadeut in Ogle^ thorpe Uuiversity. Well may Georgian* fight bravely under *uch inspiration.
