PART TWOCivilian DefenseIN WICHITA FALLSFor the past several months this column has been under the direction of W. J, Mcllrath of the Hardin Junior College faculty. Mcllrath Friday reported for induction into the United States Army. Civilian defense has lost a valuable man as the Civilian Defense column has kept citizens informed on all defense activities, according to Director E. C. deMontel. It# will be noted elsewhere in this column that civilian defense news has received regional and statewide recognition. Letter after letter has been received asking for copies of the column so that it might be uscd as a model for such columns in other cities.Nurses AidsThe fourth graduating class ofthe nurses aides will be given diplomas Tuesday night at the Episcopal Parish House at 8 I o’clock. Dr. Q. B. Lee will make the principal address and the public is invited to attend. Mrs. Los Stringer, director, will act as chairman.The graduation list includes the following: Mrs. Mary Stacy Clag-gett, Miss Bernice Dinnln, Mrs. Betsy Opal Henry, Mrs. Helen Ann Graves, Mrs. Marjorie Althea Savely, Mrs. Jane Sears, Mrs.Myrtle Mitchell Shaw, Miss Lo-raine Tinsley, Mi$s Emogerie Touchstone, and Mrs; Evelyn Doran. These women have completed the regular 80 hours instruction under the direction of Mrs. S. M. Rugeley.As soon as the graduation diplomas have’ been received each will begin her 150 hours work in one of the hospitals.Of the 38 previous graduates in the nurses aid, one has almost reached her 500th hour of hospital work.
