It wa voted to elect all temporary officers.^, as permanent ones, with the addition of Rev. W. A. Bowen as Post Chap- \ lain. • .• . ■ ;sFollowing this the members of the-1 Executive Committee were elected. ;s The Post by-laws provide that this \c committee shall be composed of sev-ji cn members and the officers of the|j Poet who arc cx-officio members of!lt; the Committee. In accordance with'!\ this provision the following members!* were elected on this committed: |1 Henry C. McGee, Slaton; C, M. Mul- Ji lican, Lubbock; W. L Kuykendall,;! Slaton; H. C. Jones, Slaton; C. B.:l Lokcy, Lubbock; Emmett B. Porter,5’ Lubbock; W. M. Slagle, Lubbock. |sTwenty-five new members, -twen-U ty-four of whom were from . Slaton, were received /ito the Post at this meeting. .This Post has received a special compliment fro mthe State Adjutant of the Legion on its charter membership of 112 members, stating that this is the largest charter membership that has been submitted to date.At the above meeting it was agreed to conduct a publicity: campaign to acquaint our people with the nature and object of the Legion, and in this connection it was decided to. also send a printed copy of the Constitution and by-laws of this Post to each memberl This will be done at the earliest practicable date.A meeting of the Executive Coin-: mittee will bo held in the court house Thursday evening, February 5. at 7 p. ra., for the purpose of taking up matters of importance in connection with the development of this Post and its work. •
