Dean Schultz is Elsewhere.”Sergeant Dean Schultz who had beei stationed in Hawaii since going overseas, has been transferred to some where in the Southwest Pacific, accord ing to word received by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Levi Schultz at Luami to whom Dean writes under date o January 13 and 19 as follows:I don't have very much to writ* and haven’t had any mail as yet, slt; I don’t have any letters to answer News is going to be a very scarce iterr here and if I ever thought it was scarce before, I really didn’t even have an) ideas about it then. The incoming news is also at a minimum as we havt no radios and no papers and none of u« have any idea of what is going or outside. It is the first time I have ever been in a spot like this and it is quite a funny feeling alright. Perhaps later on we will have electricity and be able to use our radio, but right now the prospects don’t look very good,It is quite a job running all of out machines by hand now, and none oi us realized just what it would be tc do without the good old electric current. We have managed to get our December payroll completed and paid and so far I think we have done very well along the finance lines.“This is a very hot, damp climate, and the uniform here is a pair of shorts and a pair of shoes. It seems funny to see everyone dressed that way, but it is the only practical and comfortable way to dress during the day.
