Soldier Gets Purple HeartPhilip and Anns, Lcyman, of 216 Concord' avenue, arc anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Purple Heart medal which is being sent io them by Pic. Rosario j. Ley-man was awarded the medal for wounds revived in Italy.The 2U-year-old soldier celebrated Ills birthday on Jan. 10, and his father baught swnc war bonds for him in honor of the occasion. Ley-man expressed concern In his note as to whether his parents had received the $100 which he mailed to them before Christmas and add^d that he was wounded, but not sen-ously, and was getting along fine. He asked his parents to keep the medal next to his picture on the mantelpiece as a remembrance of his wound.Ley mail attended Franklin Grammar School and completed three years at Chester High before being inducted on April 13, 1942. After taking his basic t-rahiiing at Fort McClellan, Ala., he went overseas and wrote his first letter home from itfnrlh Africa on Oct. 2, Serving with the infantry, he traveled to Casablanca and lalur Italy, where he was wounded,A stepbrother.
