Russia's Acc SniperI’fiM - - *1In the foreground, setting out for the advanced line is Soviet sniper Vassily Faronov, who has already shot 136 German officers and men, taken seven prisoners and destroyed one Nazi tank. Faronov has been decorated with the Order of the Red Star and the Medal of Valour. Take note of the telescopic sight on his gun. Crack shots like Faronov, to say nothing of bravery, have helped to make the defense of Stalingrad one of the epics of the war.
