5 Architects Win 1st Round Of Bataan Memorial ContestWASHINGTON lt;AP) — Five architect* were named yesterday winners in the first stage of a national competition to design a war memorial to he placed on Corregidor Island in the Philippine*.The memorial will honor “all tho.se who fought and died in thp Pacific area during World War IT.The five winners, chosen from 4* competitors, will match their designs against 1hn.se of five firms especially selected from previous performance in the field of memorial architecture.
