Mayor John Galvin was unavoidably absent, and Vice Mayor Carl M. Jacobs, Jr., delivered the address which had been assignedto. the Mayor. lieutenant Charles A.Huntington responded, to one of thetoasts. The faculty farewell was livered by Rev. James McCabe, S.J., and the farewell on behalf of the S. A. T. C. was given by Acting Sergeant Joseph F. McCarthy. 1’receding the dinner thlt;* assemblage, standing, sang “St. Xavier for Aye,” a musical tribute to the alma inater of the student soldiers.
