Mrs. R. G. Savage of 536 North Oak Park avenue has received word that her son, Sergeant Thomas Savage came safely through the bombing at Manilla on the fateful Sunday which started the war.Sergeant Savage, who is withthe 192nd Tank battalion was home on furlough six weeks ago and since then has been sent to Camp Stotenburg, eighty milesfrom Manilla. En route, he wrote his mother from Honolulu four weeks ago.Young Savage enlisted and spent a year at Fort Knox.
