FourteenGetLetters at Saint Mary's; Two Are Four Year MenFourteen warriors of St. Mary’s High school’s grid team, two of which were four-year men, received, their “letters’* in an athletic rally in St. Mary’s hall Tuesday afternoon. One girl was awarded a monogram.Five of the fourteen will be lost by graduation next May. Letters were presented by the Rev Fr. T. R. Reynolds principal of St. Mary’s High. Talks were given by football players and songs were sung by the various classes.Emerson Sumser was chairman of the affair. Culbert was appointed receiver and Miss Wilma Bower was named assistant receiver of the Croghan Creamery Co. of 926 Wolf-av by Judge A. W, Over-myer Monday. They qualified with a joint bond of $5,000. Miss Bower has been a bookkeeper at the creamery for several years and her appointment as assistant to the receiver was suggested and approved after Attorney Culbert at first declined the position. Both appointments were made in connection with the suit which Clarence G. Glenn Fairfield viewed the prospects for St. Mary’s In the athletic realm likely to be attained in the future.Remarks were given by Coach Ray Helmer and the value of the monogram was illustrated in a talk byFather Reynolds.Those who earned monograms this season, having had their necessary number of quarters, are Keating, Kraus, White, Dresehel Polta, Hug, Kamann. T. Roth, Smith, Fairfield, Groff, Loeffier, F. Roth and Kastor. Genevieve Pusateri is the girl. Keating and Kraus are four-letter-men. Keating started out as an end the first year and served in the back-field the last three years. Kraus made his debut as a tackle and also ended up in the backfield.In addition to Keating and Kraus, White, Dresehel and Polta will be lost by graduation. The latter, three did not put in four complete years on the gridiron.♦The St, Mary's football team will be guests at a banuet to be given by St Mary’s High Alumni Association during Christmas week.
