F., France:Nov. 17, 1918.My Dearest Mother and All:Just a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope this findsyou all the same Well, mother, thank the good Lord this awful war is over and I would like to be with you Christmas but I don’t think that I will get back that soon, but we will be coming home soon for they are going to send some of the boys in about two weeks. I hope I am one of them for I surely am longing to see you and Ellen and all the rest. That surely will be a happy daywhen the boys come home. Well. Imother, don’t worry for I am well I and having a good time. Our division I was relieved from the front just as I soon as the war was over and we all I got a ten-day leave to go to Paris I and have a good time. I have been I ; all over Franca. 1 am writing this I letter at the Red Cross. You surely I have to give the Red Cross credit for! they surely have good things to I eat. I just got through having a nice I cup of hot coffee and some eats. 11 am now at a place called Nevers. Wei leave here at 2:30 in the morning I for a place called St. Malo. We art going to stay there for two or three I days and then we have to go back on I duty at the Metz front, but one thing, I there won’t any more shells that a I fellow will have to duck. But they Isurely did come thick while we were I at the front. II have never seen Joe Feltes or! Albert Haueter yet. - I hope they will Iboth come back home again. IWell, mother, don’t worry for 11am well and 1 will soon be coming! home, I have not received any mail! yet.
