Chastain Named Member National Re-Employment Board—Announcement has been made of the appointment of Mr. R. E. Chastain as a., member, of the National Re*EmpIoyment Committee, for Thomas County. This appointment was made by the Gov. Hon. Eugene Talmadge.This committee will make efforts to assist the boys in the service to get their former position^ back'after they leave the service! and this' coinmlttee lt;is working with the draft board and the state' re-employment board to • keep tab on those in the service.Mr.* Chastain states that it will' • 4be his purpose and that of the other agencies to do everything possible to help re-instate all former employees in their old jobs when they come back.prophecies, and the development in Thomasville of one of the largest in, dependent packing plants in the south, and also the development of a large packing business in Cairo, in addition to those of the big packers in other cities in South Georgia.South Georgia owes much to the memory of this far-sighted Grady and Thomas county man, who started something that has already brought millions of dollars to the farmers of this section and will continue to bring millions each year to them.Pat Ward has passed on—but the work he started is still in its infancy, and will stand as a lasting monument to his memory.
