Johnston yesterday issued another vigorous order to prevent the leaking out of military information and directing that any guilty of such Infraction of orders be proceeded against.The Secretary of War directs,” the order states, that all officers and enlisted men of your command be directed to exercise the greatest amount of care, to prevent all military Information leaking out, and to refrain from discussing m public or from mentioning In private letters anything which might be of military value to the enemy.Considerable of Importance becomes public through publication of letters. The publication of letters is generally objectionable because, very frequently, they carry information harmless In itself. but seriously harmful when connecting with other items of apparently harmless matter.It is of the greatest importance that officers and men be thoroughly instructed before departure from their camps or cantonments in the United States, and also en route, with reference to the necessity of giving no details of the names, numbers or movements of troops for duty abroad or enroute for Europe; no napes or numbers of ships; no description or details of methods used to avoid enemy submarines; no information concerning the patrols for the protection of ships; no ports of embarkation, departure, arrival, debarkation; no routes pursued.”Maj J. He is also an expert on homing pigeons, having been as a boy an extensive breeder and trainer of those birds.Among the books for Army post libraries received yesterday by Capt Joseph J.
