W. Howen Is beautifying his home with a coat of paint.St. Rarnabas Episcopal church parishioners are planning for a rector.Mrs. P. W. Howen has been suffering from pleurisy for several days.F. M. Johnson recently was a guest of his children at Burlington.Friends here are sorry to learn of the illness of Richard lannbert, who suffers from typhoid fever and is at St. Elizabeth hospital for treatment at Fort Madison.Mrs. J. L. Vanosdoll and children were en route to Spencer, Ind.. Sunday night to join her husband, who has bought a farm near there.Hiram Scranton is seemingly better.Mrs. Emma Allen, who visited with her sister. Mrs. Elizabeth Horton. for three months, has returned to her home at Hill City. S. I). Mrs. Allen made many friends here, who regret her going.Remember the date of the M. E.bazaar, December 17. A musical will be given and chicken pie supper served.Joel Ames is slowly Improving from a sick spell.Jamison Itros. have added a meat market to their store.Mumps and whooping cough are prevalent at this place.At the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Marshall near Dalland occurred the death of their daughter. Mias Hazel Marshall, of typhoid fevei. in he fourteenth year of her life. The death of a young person is always a sad one. She had been very sick for three weeks and the barest hopes were held for her recovery. The passing from life into death leaves a void in tho household that never can be filled. Saturday morning, December 4, the death angel brought sadness into tin- home. He who gave took her into Himself. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their friends. Interment wus made in the Gal land cemetery.Hon. C. A. Kennedy Is In Washington. k.
