Little All-America TeamRENO EVENING GAZETTJWolf Pack Gridders Gain MentionTree University of Nevada gridders received honorable mention in The Associated Press* 1959 Little All-America football team, announced today.Honored were:Bobby Peck, quarterback,^ loot-7 senior from Henderson, who guided the Wolf Pack the past two seasons. He completed 57 of 121 passes for 891 yardsin the seven-game 1959 season.Tom Whitaker, end, S-foot-2 senior from Ukiah, Calif. A four-year vansty gridder, he caught IS passes for 285 yards, doubled on defense, and did all of Nevada’s punting.Rod Cook, fullback, 6-foot junior from Ingelwood, Calif. Cook played on2y four complete games before being sidelined by an injury but still led Nevada in rushing with 295 yards net in 64 carries, a 4.6 average.Coach Dick Trachok, whosefirst Nevada grid team compiled a 4-3 record, commented:That’s real good news. We’re happy for those kids. They worked real hard and they deserve the recognition.”Trachok said he feels that Chuck Walker, husky four-year veteran center from Sparks, should also have rated mention.Cook will be back next season and that's very gratifying,tradded the Nevada coadh.Only Coast player to be named to the first or second Little All-America teams is quarterback Jim Sochor, outstanding passer in San Francisco State history,who gained the second squad.Sochor led the Golden Gators to their first undefeated, untiedFired Coach at Victory BanquetPHILADELPHIA (AP) - Steve Sebo played the good sport Tuesday night at a dinner celebrating Penn's first Ivy League football championship since 1952. He had just been fired as Penn's footballcoach.It’s official now so let’s relax and help this fine group of boys celebrate their1' Ivy League championship,” Sebo said. It’s a great thing they have done.”For five years Sebo led losing and mediocre teams. Buf Tuesday night he celebrated a 7-1-1 season, the best at Penn in 12 years, and a championship.A few hours before, Dr. Gaylord P.
