He completed 57 of 121 passes for 891 yardsin the seven-game 1959 season.Tom Whitaker, end, S-foot-2 senior from Ukiah, Calif. A four-year vansty gridder, he caught IS passes for 285 yards, doubled on defense, and did all of Nevada’s punting.Rod Cook, fullback, 6-foot junior from Ingelwood, Calif. Cook played on2y four complete games before being sidelined by an injury but still led Nevada in rushing with 295 yards net in 64 carries, a 4.6 average.Coach Dick Trachok, whosefirst Nevada grid team compiled a 4-3 record, commented:That’s real good news.
