Boswell Marsh, Eq, of this city,handed us a correct copy of the plan of old Fort Steuben, drawn from the original in the possesion of Rev. C. C. Beatty. The fort stood on High street near the site of the Female Seminary. The briginal copy of the design of the fort is in the handwriting of Hr. Beatty s father, r.ndwan taken by him at the fort In 1787. Thefort was one hundred and fifty feet square, with block houses twenty-eight feet square in each corner. These houses were divided into two rooms for the accommodation of fourteen soldiers. The officers’ barracks w**re not the most luxurious, hut comfortable. The fort was a very substantial structure, and well arranged for the littlef 4 Jband of pioneer soldiers.
