Meredith Schreffler, of the 110th Infantry. 28th division, now in France, and Pfc. John Frederick Schreffler, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E Schreffler of Stoystown, R. D. 3, met while on leave in England. sometime in June, 1943.The brothers had not seen each other since 1941. when Sgt. Meredithfirst left with Company C, for In-diantown Gap. The meeting was of such importance to them that theyI hunted up a photographer that theymight be pictured together.Pfc. John F. with the paratroopers,went overseas in * 1943. and shortlyafter the picture was taken he u is transferred to Italy. a re he was wounded. No word has been receiv 'd from him since the war department notification.A third brother, Pvt. Kenneth Schreffler in training in Misirhmp i, and a brother in law, Pvt. William R. Cree. Jr., is with a medical detachment, also overseas.
