We gave the Yanks a Severe whipping. Wo had ft tine open field fight ol it—face to lace. Our regiment repulsed a charge of cavalry, and emptied nearly every saddle. All ready again. We took shout 1500 prisoners. Joel Hawthorne was slightly wounded bf a shell We just slayed the Yankees. Love to all—id great haste.
