Dougherty, son of Mrs. Ella Dougherty, according to a communication received by her this week from the War Department.The decoration will be presented to the mother by some officer from1 ' f %v'*adquarters of the Fourth Armys in San Antonio, the letter stated. 2 Text of the citation is as fol-e lows:e β€œFor gallantry in action on 22 1 February. 1945. As Corporal 1 Dougherty's wire crew was engaged in repairing an important line to the battalion forward command post, the enemy unleased a withering motar and artillery barrage.
