(I San Marcos, Texas, Aug. 13.— jCity Marshal Sparry Bales. who i was injured by a fall from his J horse early Tuesday morning', died , Wednesday night without having ,regained consciousness. The horse j which lie was filling, and which is f said to have been a regular outlaw. |was bought by Mr. Bales last Fri day. It became frightened at therapid passing of several automobiles and rearing violently threw the officer to the ground, fracturing his skull. fMr. Bales was 33 years of age and leaves besides a wife and two children his parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Bales, and a large relation |ship.Out of respect all eitv otliees and places of business were closed during the funeral hour westerdav. | The San Marcos volunteer fire companies. of which Mr. Bales was a I member, and a large concourse of people of all walks in life attended the funeral, which took place at f o'clock in the lt;itv cemetery.
