However, there is uncertainty as to how long she remained in Fayetteville, since she is not listed in the 1850 census of Washington County.She brought her family to Fayetteville at the urging of friends who feared they were in danger because of the Wood bath which had taken the lives of her husband: her father inlaw. The Ridge (or Major Ridge as he was known by the whites) and Elias Boudinot. a nephew of Major Ridge and brother ofStand Watie.Her family, when she came to Fayetteville included, in ad dition to Miss Sawyer, her old est son, John Rollin, 12; Herman D., birthdate unknown; Aeneas. 8: Andrew Jacksonwho was 4. and three daughters: Clarinda. listed as feeble minded in the settlement of John Ridge’s estate; Susan C. who was 10. and the youngest child, Flora.
