From left they are Staff Sgt. T. Newman Shannahan, 28, of Williamsburg, who lost a leg in Italy, and Sgt. Paul Alsin, 25, and Sgt. John Krejci, 23, who escaped from an Italian prison camp n September, 1943, and made their way beck to the Allied lines months later.
