KNITTED ARTICLES NEEDEDFOR SUFFERING FRENCH.Appeal from Red Cross for Aid from Loyal Women Workers of Danielson and Vicinity.rAn appeal from France for knitted articles was received here by telegraph Thursday morning through the American Red Cross. A nation-wide campaign is under way for knitted articles to be sent to France, that thousands of the inhabitants of that bleeding country may not suffer during the coming winter as they suffered during the last winter.Danielson's allotment is 400 sweaters, 400 mufflers, 400 pairs of wristers and 400 scarfs Four hundred women workers, each to make a complete set of the foregoing articles, are wanted to join in the work of protecting* a persecuted humanity from the rigors of an approaching winter.The garments will go to clothe and protect the wasted and poorly nourished bodies of thousands upon thousands of brave French people of towns from which the ungodly Huns have been driven by the force of the allied drive during the spring and summer months and of other heroic citizens of the French republic who have come out of what has been occupied territory for nearly three years.There is no woolen yarn with which to make the garments needed in France and the people of the sister republic must look to America for aid.The good women of this and surrounding towns-who wish to contribute by their labor toward alleviating the misery spread over France by the operations of the German government are urged to send their names to Mrs John Young, Danielson, who will direcw j the work of getting out Danielson’s allotment of knitted articles. Mrs. Young gladly will give all instructions as to the kind of yarn to be used and lirections for knitting it into such [ ^ garments as are needed. No woman' -an performa greater service at this | ra time than to offer to make a set of the I w articles needed- I dcFrance today is without sufficient ! sh fuel to meet the needs of the coming winter. It is a nation struggling with signal bravery for its national life and the rights of democracy; its people suffer every agony that a hellish war -an impose. It is exerting even,' en-?rgj' to meet the demands of the war.Tn this plight it is tinable to cope w’ith every situation, and helping protect the rapatriated people of its northern province is one place where it needs aid. which aid the women of this country can and will supply. While the men 5f France fight for rights that are equally the rights of the people of the Fnited States, the women of this rich «ind battle-free country are being urged j to join in the local movement, one of \ the mighty battles of nation service I being fought behind and far removed from the fighting lines.P V A MA A M D ■ ill. n _ .1V£mmpacabem;nofrlt;barievilt;evselt;airres]SOIbo;
