Suit forDk« ati h. Aug, G. ~[Special.]—A damage suit with sensational features was instituted last evening '.fofolviug Decatur aud Danville people. A few nights ago Uiehard Cannon, nephew of Congressman Cannon, of Danville, was seated on the balcony at the St. Nicholas hotel in company with his wife and Will Ennis, of Decatur, a wealthyyoung man who but recently returned fromEurope. Caution and Ennis were drinking beer from bottles and were having a good time. On the sidewalk directly beneath the balcony were seated Henry Matthews, manager of the La*b foundry, arid Charles P. Housum, a retired manufacturer. A quantity of the beer from the balcony trickled down upon Matthews, who had on a new suit, which was ruined, and it made Matthews so hot that he ran up the grand stairway to the balcony and demanded immediate satisfaction. The presence of the lady prevented a fight. Now Matthewshas sued Cannon and Ennis for damages and both sides have employed expensivelawyers to fight the case.
