Schneider Boys Meet in France“When I said, ‘Hello Fred!’ he didn’t recognize me, for I had a long beard and a dirty face,” wrote S/Sgt. Henry Schneider in describing a meeting between himself and his brother, Pvt. Fred, on the French battlefield July 15.Relating the meeting to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schneider of 317 26th avenue, Bellwood, Henry declared: “I really had a surprise a few days ago, when I saw Fred’s outfit, and with a bit of inquiring found him digging his fox hole. We certainly was glad to see each other, and spent an hour talking about experiences.”Henry volunteered for service in the cavalry in February, 1941. In1942, he was transferred to a Tank Battalion and was stationed atseveral different camps before leaving for England on February 17, 1944. He is at present somewhere in France.Fred was drafted in October,1943, and left for England in March. He is now with a field artillery unit- somewhere inFrance. % ^ ^ la
