No man fand no nation) can so thoroughly jt hange his reputation, except by emi-l, nently deserving the change.If we had been asked five years ago “Are the Germans good people”? we would have promptly answered, “Yes”! Recently we have doubted it and now we* are convinced that they are not.Thus does fate store up for us all \ Hie things we do against others.
