Marjorie Packett Bride Of K. Williamsf Miss Marjorie Maxine Packett, daughter of Mr. anlt;l Mrs. Glenn D. Packett of Tecumseh, and Kenneth E. Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams, also of Tecumseh, were united in marriage at a June ceremony performed by the Rev. Wayne A. Larson. The lines for the double ring rites were read in the presence of 100 guests at the First Presbyterian church of Tecumseh. Canterbury bells, mock orange, roses and hydrangea decorated the altar which was lighted by tapers in seven branch candelabra.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an afternoon dress of sheer gold silk mesh. The fitted bodice was accentuated by a tiny flared peplum and a narrow gold belt. She wore a white picture hat and white slippers. Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, baby's breath and baby fern.AttendantsMiss Betty L. Piersol, maid of honor, wore a dress of shell pink linen fashioned with a fitted bodice and a gathered peplum. She wore a white halo hat and carried a colonial bouquet of pink carnations.Jack Williams of Tecumseh served his brother as best man. Miss Norma Jean Bates, wearing a gray two piece dress with pink carnation corsage, lighted the tapers. Miss Betty Baird played the nuptial marches and accompanied Alfred Blind e, who sang “Because” and “I Love You Truly/*The bride’s mother wore an aqua crepe dress with white accessories. The groom's mother wore a navy blue dress with white accessories. Both wore pink carnation corsages.ReceptionA reception for 50 * guests was held immediately after the ceremony in the church parlors. Thewedding oa\« was baked by the groom‘s mother. Miss Blanche Packett, aunt of the bride, cut the cake and Mrs. Eugene Bos-sung served the punch. Others assisting in the reception room were Mrs. Eugene Brock, Mrs. Wilbur Sherman and Miss Marjorie Sherman, Mrs. Tom Wherry, Mrs. Betty Feese and Mrs. J. B. Douglas, sr. Miss Baird and Miss Bates had charge of. the gifts. Miss Ruth Williams took care of the guest book.Out-of-town guests were Mrs. Frank Van Vlair of Des Moines, IaM Mrs. N. L. Packett, Roy Packett, Aliss Blanche Packett anil Johnny PacKett of Steinauer; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Packett, Marilyn and Carolyn and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Packett of Lincoln.The bride was graduated from the Tecumseh high school in 1947 and is employed as a secretary in the Robert S. Finn law office in Tecumseh. The groom is a 1944 graduate of Tecumseh high school and was in the infantry 26 months, including service overseas. He is now employeM by the county and has half interest in a custom baling enterprise.The couple is living at Tecumseh after a trip to Des Moines.
