The newly organized sewing club met last week at the home of Mrs. Loy Hammons.Gerald Dawkins, member of the Middletown National Guard unit, wil] leave with the group this month for training in Texas. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dawkins and son, Jack of Mohamet. These families, with Mrs, Robert Meyers of Middletown will attend the silver wedding anniversary celebration in Jacksonburg today for Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gerber.Two farew’ell parties w’ere given this week for Eugene Glossip. who left for service in the armed forces. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tiff C.lossip honored him with a family dinner. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parker and Joan and Carl, Mr. and Mrs Arnold Hunter and George and Gail; Mr and Mrs. Tiff Glossip, Jr. and daughter, Mr and Mrs William Glossip, Miss PatriciaScholl, William McCabe, Coy Adams, and Wayne Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor also entertained in Mr. Glossip’s honor, and guests included Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Allison and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor, Mrs Ray Meyers, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Berger, Robert Taylor, Jr. and family, Mr. and Mrs Albert School and daughter Patricia, and Donald, Dick, Gene, Roseanna, and Johanna Taylor.Mrs. Blanche Thompson has returned from Hillsboro, Ind., where she was called by the serious Illness of her brother-in-faw, Harry Grieve.Mrs Marjorie Metcalf nas returned from St. Petersburg, Fla., after several months there.Joseph Baker, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. John Baker, has en- listed in the U.
