He took basic training long ago at Fort Bliss, El Paso. But he prefers Abilene as his permanent location.An Army veteran of 16 years, M-Sgt. Schulze spent the past year at Wertheim, Germany. He served as secretary of the Officers’ Club there.The sergeant and family are living temporarily at 1149 Matador St. They have purchased a home at 1353 San Jose Dr.Schulze’s family consists of hiswife and two adopted children, Charles P. Jr., and Lois Marie. The boy is 11 months old, and the girl 7 months. Both were adopted in Germany. Vk * * - - lt;“We wanted to find twins, but these children were the nearest the same age we could locate,” Schulze said.The boy is a German lad. The little girl was born to American parents on a U.S. military base in Germany.Mrs. Schulze was formerly Marie Mallon. She is a daughter « of Mrs. Julia Mallon, who lived in Abilene in the 1940's. The couple was married in 1942 at Paris. Tex.During World War II Schulze was with the First Division in Africa and France nine months. From 1948 to 1950 he was stationed in Japan.In June, 1950, he went into combat duty in Korea, and that lasted seven months.Schulze attained the rank of first lieutenant in World War II andcaptain in the Korean war.
