Justice to address local studentsOne hundred Colorado eighth-, ninth- and lOth-grad-ers, including 13 from El Paso and Teller counties, will meet with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on May 2, as part of the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center dedication in Denver.The Colorado Youth Advisory Council, which includes four members of the Colorado General Assembly and 40 youth from across the state, selected the students, who will talk with Sotomayor about her experiences.Students will meet with Sotomayor at 8 a.m., ahead of the 1:30 p.m. ceremony to dedicate the courthouse.The new'judicial center is named in honor of Ralph L. Carr, Colorado’s 29th governor. Carr was known for opposing Japanese-American internment camps during World War II.
