(AP) - $2 A Springfield mother says there’s a sense of relief know- in ing her son is finally going to tr lie at rest in the United States. clt; Her son, Radioman 2nd class Alva L. Cloepfil, was 20 years old when he and 16 others died in the wreckage of a transport plane in a remote, mountainous s region of New Guinea in 1944. b The wreckage was discovered . last October by a civil patrol. Twelve of the victims have n been identified by dog tags and s service records.Mrs. Mabel Orndoff says it is {] a relief to know her son is fi- ^ nally coming home. Services and burial arrangements will be announced in Springfield ., this week.
