It was brought out in the hearing that Alexander had been found with 55 gallons j I of booze.! When court resumed work at 2| o’clock this afternoon, the defendant’s t! attorney plead for mercy and lenien-1^ ^ I cy, on the ground that the defendant \\ i was an ex-service man, having been jy j gassed overseas during the world *jwav, and is now a victim of tuber- IS culosis.
