HERMAN BOUDE A VISITOR HERE.While in the Southwest Pa-j cific He Was in Three Major Engagements.Sergeant Herman Boude until re-cently attached to the Marines as a scout and dog handler, in the Southwest. Pacific, arrived home Wednesday and will be a guest of | his father, S. T. Boude, 211 Liberia street and his sisters, Mesdames Dorsey .Stevenson, Bob Anderson, Fount Anderson and Bessie Me-J Nally, until May 4.I While in the southwest Pacific I Sergt. Boude was In three major en-j gagements, Cape Gloucester, Lae j and TaZasea with a war dog detachment. ./In the States only since March 31 he is anxious to get back to the ! jungles and hopes that when he (returns to San Carlos, California in • May that he has orders to that ef-Ifect, although he was sent back to the states as an instructor.Number 13 has entered into his war career a number of times. He was inducted into the army, May 13, 1942; left port of embarkation June 13, 1943; and left the Southwest .Pacific on his return trip, March 13,•1944/\I Prior to induction he was “top-jharid for 1,800 head of cattle on 1 the R. C. Randall ranch at Kimberley, Idaho. Sergt. Boude has also been employed , on the Matador ranch in Western Texas, the U. C. ranch (Utah Construction Company) in Arizona. Between times he has guided and trapped at .Grand Lake, Colorado, at the western gate of Rocky Mountain National Park.One of his favorite pastimes while in Chillicothe was boxing and wrest-i ling and he took part in Golden | Gloves Tournaments, sponsored by j the American Legion, j Sergt. Boude has a brother, Sergt. (Robert Boude in the service. At the: present time he is stationed at*Camp Hale, Colorado, with a mountain infantry. He was inducted into service in December, 1942.
